Ibadi Bano Begum Daughter of Amroha

Ibadi Bano Begum bi amma (d.1924) was one of the first Muslim women to actively take part in politics and became a prominent voice in the Indian independence movement against the notorious British Raj.

Born into a nationalist family in amroha Uttar Pradesh in 1852, Ibadi Bano Begum was married to Abdul Ali Khan, a senior official in Rampur at a young age. They had a daughter and five sons, including Mawlana Shaukat Ali and Mawlana Muhammad Ali Jauhar, who came to be known as the popular freedom fighters — the Ali brothers.
